Training and Behaviour Support
Did you bring home your new puppy or rescue dog dreaming of long walks in the countryside, but the minute the lead comes off he disappears out of sight? Do you spend your walks apologising for your over friendly dog, or hiding in driveways trying to avoid everyone while your normally placid pup turns into a barking, lunging beast?
Perhaps your house feels more like a war zone while your dog does the wall of death, grabbing the kids toys as she runs past? You dreamt of a quiet companion to snooze at your feet while you work from home, and instead you're constantly muting zoom calls to yell at the dog because someone dared to walk within a mile of your window.
Or do you actually have the opposite problem, an anxious dog who hides away, is wary of visitors and you despair of ever being able to do something normal with them like sitting in the pub?
I can help you to turn your dog from a source of stress to a calm companion. Whether you want to work through a few little issues to make yours and your dogs life a little easier, or you're at your wits end and just need help, I can help.
How to work with me
If I haven't met you before I like to start with a free call to find out a little more. We both need to be happy working together, I need to feel I'm the right person to help and you need to be comfortable working with me. I'll find out more about your dog and the results you're hoping to achieve, and tell you more about the process.
We'll then meet in person, either at home or in public depending on where your dog is having the most problems. This helps me to develop the right training plan for you, and means we can start making progress straight away. One off training sessions, or initial assessment sessions are £70 for 90 minutes.
Most problem behaviours don't exist on their own and aren't fixed in one training session. If you and your dog need more support I will develop an individual, realistic training plan with easy to follow steps for you. We can agree a training programme depending on the level of support you need and your dogs needs, a one to three month plan is normally great for achieving meaningful and lasting results.
In some cases where an owner is struggling with time to practice, or with some specific areas of training, I can add extra 'trained for you' sessions where I take your dog out and work on the behaviour areas you need help with, this might be intensive loose lead, or exposure to other dogs. This is only available to those I am already working with, please ask if you are interested in this service.
